Poetry Slam
Warden House Poetry Slam is a performance poetry competition. Each year Year 5/6 and Year 3/4 pupils write and perform poetry during a week-long poetry project. Pupils perform their poems to their classmates who then vote to select the best two poets to enter the Poetry Slam competition. The Poetry Slam competition then takes place in the school hall with a panel of judges from the school community including the children in the audience. Another fine example of how Warden House makes learning irresistible for our children.
The Poetry Slam came about from a competition attended by Mr Chisnell (our previous Executive Headteacher) that he entered at the Purbeck Folk Festival in the summer holidays and the story has been published in an education journal (see below).
